The session will explore what defines best-in-class project management from multiple angles—including project governance structures, tools, and processes, as well as the leadership behaviors and mindsets that drive performance. Freeman will bring a critical perspective on the human element of project performance, focusing on how leaders can navigate increasing complexity—balancing stakeholders, governance layers, supply chains, and sometimes adversarial dynamics—while fostering collaboration, aligning competing agendas, and creating a “win-together” mindset that unlocks execution and accelerates value creation.

Freeman brings over a decade of experience helping global energy companies and EPCs deliver high-stakes capital projects. His work focuses on leadership performance, organizational alignment, and driving execution under pressure.

“Project performance has never been more dependent upon project leadership and the ability to manage complexity and bring diverse stakeholders together powerfully,” said Freeman. “I look forward to sharing our insights and best practices as well as learning from the other panelists as well.”

As a firm with deep roots in project execution and leadership development, JMW is honored to be the official “Project Performance” Sponsor of this year’s Energy Projects Conference. Members of the firm’s executive leadership team will be in attendance and are looking forward to engaging with leaders across the energy, infrastructure, and EPC sectors.
